New SIA Information Sheets

The SIA has just released a series of leaflets, covering Ecodesign and its implications for the industry, Ecodesign Ready stoves and the importance of burning dry wood. The leaflets are designed to give stove retailers and installers the information they need to talk to their customers on these important topics. The information leaflets can be downloaded from the SIA web site

The more efficient the appliance the fewer logs required.

An Ecodesign Ready stove not only reduces emissions it requires fewer logs to produce the same heat. This in turn reduces the amount of emissions. Helping the environment and saving money.

Number of logs required to produce 4kWh of heat over a 5 hour period.

Wet logs, Less heat

The moisture content of the logs directly impacts on the heat they can generate. Burning wet wood really equate to boiling water and this is reflected in the lack of heat output to the room.
